Station 1: Jesus Is Condemned to Death

“Where Are You, Lord, in This?”

By JP Vu – Ignis Ministries

As Jesus begins His journey to the cross, He stands condemned—misunderstood, falsely accused, and abandoned by many of His own followers. In this moment, He experiences isolation and injustice, yet He does not walk away from His mission of love.

There are times in my own life when I have felt judged, misunderstood, or unfairly treated—especially by those I serve or within my own community. I find myself asking Jesus, “Where are You in this?” In those moments, it is tempting to withdraw, to grow bitter, or to separate myself from others.

This Station invites me to reflect:

  • How can I respond with love instead of defensiveness?

  • How can I remain united to Christ and to my community when I feel unseen or misunderstood?

“Abba, Father,” He said, “all things are possible for You. Take this cup from Me. Yet not what I will, but what You will.”

Jesus shows me another way. Even when condemned, He remains rooted in love and obedience to the Father.

Jesus, I pray for the grace to respond more like You— with love, grace, and humility. Ground me in Your love, and unite my heart more fully with Yours and Your mission.
