✨ Christ Is Already With Us

Finding God’s Healing Hand in a Wounded World

Advent invites us to contemplate the mystery of the Incarnation—the coming of Christ into our broken yet beautiful reality. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, bringing with Him peace that the world cannot give. This is a peace beyond our understanding, a peace far greater than anything we could possibly imagine.

Christ, Brother to All Creation

In taking on our nature, Jesus also became a brother to all of creation—from the animals that lay beside Him to the bright star that shone above.

Perhaps more than ever before, heaven and earth were truly full of God’s glory. And among the first to witness this miracle, besides Mary and Joseph, were none other than Brother Ox and Sister Sheep.

Peace for All Creation

As I reflect on the Nativity of Christ, I wonder if His promise of peace is not just meant for humanity but for all of creation as well.

Surely, as our world experiences the worsening impacts of climate change, humanity does not cry out alone for peace. We join with countless sibling creatures who suffer greatly at the hands of human greed and consumption. Even if we cannot hear their wails or see their tears, our Father in heaven knows the pain of His children all too well.

Turning to the Prince of Peace

Amid intensifying disasters and the ongoing exploitation of natural resources, I find myself this Advent turning more and more to the Prince of Peace and asking Him to save His wounded creation.

In doing so, I have felt called to pay closer attention to the world around me—noticing not only ruin and devastation but also the healing hand of God at work in so many ways.

A Sunrise Answer

I ask for the grace to join Him in His saving work. And in a bright sunrise off the horizon, I find my answer.
